Balance the outcomes
Write for Arb Calculator
We consider contributions that help readers understand odds, stake splitting and their practical limits. Read these guidelines before you pitch; they apply to every submission.
Topics we consider
- Decimal odds, implied probability and book percentage, explained with worked numbers.
- How arbitrage and back/lay calculations work, including rounding and commission.
- Practical limits: changing prices, settlement and void rules, stake limits and account restrictions.
- How betting exchanges, liability and commission work.
- Responsible gambling, written from evidence or professional experience.
What we do not publish
- Tips, predictions, picks or systems presented as ways to win.
- Reviews or promotions of specific bookmakers, casinos, exchanges or tipsters, including bonus or sign-up codes.
- Content about unlicensed or unlawful gambling.
- Articles written mainly to place a link.
Quality standards
- Show the working: every calculation should use decimal odds and include the steps, so a reader can repeat it with the calculator.
- Check your numbers: we recalculate every example, and pieces with errors are returned.
- Cite sources for factual claims, rules and statistics, preferably primary sources such as regulators and operators' published terms.
- Write plainly for an intelligent reader who is new to the topic, and explain terms the first time you use them.
- Put risks next to the method: an article that describes arbitrage without its practical limits will not be accepted.
Originality and honesty
Submissions must be your own, previously unpublished work, and must not be offered to other sites at the same time. Copied, spun or lightly rewritten content is rejected. If you used AI tools while drafting, say so; you remain responsible for every fact and figure, and text generated without your own checking and expertise is not accepted.
Misleading claims are not allowed. Do not describe any betting method as risk-free, guaranteed or certain profit, and do not overstate what a calculation proves.
How editorial review works
- You send a short pitch by email.
- If the idea fits, we reply and agree the scope with you before you write the full draft.
- We check every calculation, source and claim, and may edit for accuracy, clarity, length and style. You see substantive changes before publication.
- We decide whether to publish. Credit, licence and any other terms are agreed in writing before anything goes live.
Sending a pitch or a draft does not guarantee publication. We may decline any submission, at any stage, without detailed feedback, and we reply only to pitches we want to take forward.
Links and commercial submissions
Contributing does not entitle you to a link, and we do not sell links or publication. Any links in a published piece are chosen by our editors for their value to readers, and we decide how they are marked, including with rel attributes such as nofollow or sponsored.
Disclosure policy
If you work for, are paid by, or have an affiliate or other financial relationship with any bookmaker, exchange, tipster, software provider, agency or other business connected to your topic, you must say so in your pitch. Undisclosed relationships lead to rejection, or to removal if we find out after publication. If we accept a piece that has a commercial connection, the relationship is stated clearly on the page and links to the business concerned are marked as sponsored.
How to submit
Email contact@arbcalculator.co with "Contributor pitch" and your working title in the subject line. Please include:
- your name as you would like it credited, and a short note on your relevant experience;
- a working title and an outline of the main points;
- links to one or two pieces you have written before;
- a disclosure of any commercial relationship, or a statement that you have none.
Paste your pitch into the email rather than attaching files. Personal details you send are handled as described in the privacy policy.
