Balance the outcomes

Disclaimer

Arb Calculator shows what a set of prices implies on paper. Real bets can differ from that result, so read this before acting on any calculation.

Educational calculations only

Everything on this site explains arithmetic. Nothing on it is betting, financial, legal or tax advice, and nothing recommends a particular bet, market or operator. Example stakes and prices are hypothetical numbers used to show how a calculation works.

A calculated margin is not guaranteed profit

A positive result means the prices you entered would cover every outcome if every bet were placed at those prices and settled under the same rules. In practice that can fail at any step:

  • Odds can change between the first and the last bet, leaving one outcome uncovered or covered at a worse price.
  • An operator can refuse, reduce or delay a stake, or cap it below what the calculator suggests.
  • Settlement rules differ between operators, for example on extra time, player retirements, dead heats or postponed events, so one bet can be voided while another stands.
  • A bet can be cancelled for an obvious pricing error after it was accepted.
  • Commission, transaction fees, currency conversion and taxes reduce returns and are only included where you enter them.
  • Stakes are rounded to whole cents, so very small margins can disappear after rounding.

If only part of an arbitrage is placed, you hold an ordinary bet with ordinary risk of loss.

Operator terms and account restrictions

Many bookmakers restrict, limit or close accounts that they believe are used for arbitrage, and some apply this to bonus and free bet offers. Read each operator's terms before you rely on a calculation, and do not assume an offer applies to you.

Gambling laws where you are

Whether betting is legal, and on what terms, depends on where you live. The site does not check your location or eligibility. You are responsible for following the law that applies to you, including the minimum gambling age.

Accuracy of the calculator

The calculation code is tested before every release against fixed test cases and an independent exact-fraction implementation, and the formulas are published on the About page. Even so, we cannot promise the site is free of errors. Check any figure that matters before you use it, and tell us if something looks wrong.

No advertising or affiliate links

The site displays no advertising, affiliate links or sponsored content, and mentions of bookmakers or exchanges are generic. External links, such as to gambling support services, are included for information only.

If gambling stops feeling manageable

A calculator cannot tell you whether you should bet. If gambling is affecting your money, relationships or wellbeing, stop and read Responsible play for where to find support.
